This PhD program, Environment and Sustainability is related to the environmental studies. Environment and Sustainability Doctoral Program represents an adaptation to the Spanish Royal Decree 99/2011, considering the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) launched along with the Bologna Process, with the firm commitment to provide quality training and combine the latest trends in research on environment and its implication in sustainability. Furthermore, it is directly linked with existing studies (i.e. Environmental Sciences degree) at the UMH and other nearby universities and the demands of our immediate socio-economic surroundings. Students of this program are challenged to think outside the boundaries of traditional disciplinary programs to address environmental and sustainability challenges with regional, national, and international significance.

El Programa de Doctorado en Medio Ambiente y Sostenibilidad está relacionado con los estudios en Ciencias Ambientales y con todos aquellos que tengan relación con el medio ambiente.

The main objective is the research about the interactions between man and environment, concerning to environmental problems and solutions.

El objetivo principal es el desarrollo de investigaciones relativas a la interacción entre el hombre y su entorno, entre el hombre y el medio ambiente, considerando especialmente los problemas ambientales y la solución de los mismos.

Three departments are involved in this program: Department of Agrochemistry and Environment, Department of Applied Biology and Department of Physics and Computer Architecture. The professor and researchers are from the areas of Agrochemistry and Soil Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Botany and Ecology.  Seventeen professors and a great number of researchers are developing their work in the lines of research of this program.

Tres son los departamentos implicados en el programa de doctorado: Agroquímica y Medio Ambiente, Física y Arquitectura de Computadores y Biología Aplicada. Los investigadores pertenecen a las áreas de Edafología y Química Agrícola, Ingeniería Química, Física Aplicada, Botánica y Ecología. Diecisiete profesores y un gran número de investigadores desarrollan su trabajo en las líneas de investigación de este programa. Todos ellos colaboran con diversas instituciones científicas de todo el mundo.
